Print Gocco Marathon

I couldn't stop.

The print I did today is based on the painting “Failure of the RSVP” that was one of pieces from the collaborative project I did with Jennifer Davis titled “Delightful”. We are doing “Delightful Too” At Young Blood Gallery in Atlanta this summer so maybe I’ll exhibit some of these there.

I printed some of them on pages of the 1897 book entitled “Little Journeys to the Home of Famous Women”. The book was in pieces so I didn’t feel bad printing on it. Jane Austin and Charlotte Bronte are just two of the famous women.

This is why my boyfriend rocks: He drove me to Wet Paint in St. Paul during a snow storm yesterday for more gocco screens and then today, with over a foot of snow on the ground he shoveled out the car and drove me to Paper Source for more paper. Plus he walked Ella and hasn’t complained about the GIGANTIC mess I’ve made of the dining room gocco-ing.

Print Gocco!!!

I finally got one! Today was gocco day at my house. My first ever attempt was probably a bit ambitious; of the 50 or so I made maybe 3 are aligned at all. My second attempt worked out a little better alignment wise.

So, I wonder, does anyone read my blog? I’ll send the first 10 people who e-mail me with their address a gocco print from today (not a super messed-up one either).

Outsiders and Others Gallery Closing

Outsiders and Others Gallery and it's Director Yuri Arajs have been so, so, so wonderful. I am so grateful for all they have done for my personal art career as well as the support they have leant the Spectrum ArtWorks Program. I have written an open letter of good-bye and thanks on behalf of Spectrum ArtWorks to the gallery that you can read here.

Fine Fendered Friends

Last spring my sweetheart Andy and I were taking a Sunday drive in the country when we saw a sign "Bicycle Buisness for Sale". Andy purchased the bicycles (a diverse collection of nearly 200 classic beauties in varying degrees ride-ability) along with an amazing amount of new stock vintage parts and accessories including a ba-zillion fenders. My latest project is organizing an art show featuring nearly 20 of my favorite artists painting/decorating sets of bicycle fenders. It's not till May but I'm all a-buzz about the project and the beginning of the associated website here.

Above are pictures of a part of my set of fenders and just a tiny detail of the amazing set of fenders by Keegan Wenkman.

Fountain Exhibition in New York City!

I have work in this exhibition opening next week:

Fountain
660 Twelfth Avenue, (a few blocks south of the Armory show at Pier 94.)
Thursday February 22 - Monday February 26th
Reception: Thursday February 22, 5pm-12am
Exhibition Hours 11-7pm
www.fountainexhibit.com

Williamsburg, Brooklyn's most forward-thinking and cutting-edge galleries, Capla Kesting Fine Art, Ch'i Contemporary Fine Art, Front Room, Glowlab, McCaig-Welles and Outrageous Look have collaborated to present "Fountain New York 2007". Expect floor-to-ceiling displays of brand- new works, bold installations, impromptu performance events and the best parties of the weekend, as this exhibition makes its mark in a massive 5000 square foot space at: 660 Twelfth Avenue, a few blocks from the Armory show at Pier 94.

"Fountain" is a guerrilla-style art fair - under the radar, independent and highly influential. This independent aspect gives Fountain its edge: young Brooklyn based galleries showcasing fresh work without official booth spaces or selection committee juries. In form and spirit, the artwork shown truly reflects the avant-garde and in-your-face attitude equated with the Dada movement.

Window Show

I have a window show up at Mitrebox Framing in Minneapolis. I tried to take a picture of it and this is what happened (what did I think would happen?)
