poor ella has a cone

Ella had a suspicious bump removed from her sniffer today. She won't leave the stitches alone, so now she has a cone.

collaboration cooperation

Jennifer Davis and I were busy this weekend packing up our collaborative show, Delightful Too to ship off to Young Blood Gallery in Atlanta, Georgia. I have been posting the wrong opening reception date out there in internet land...it's the 7th, not the 5th. whoops.
Here's the whole (correct) scoop:
Delightful Too: Jennifer Davis and Amy Rice
Young Blood Gallery
629 Glenwood Ave SE
Atlanta, GA
July 5- July 27th, 2007
Opening reception: July 7, 2007 7-11pm
Here are a bunch of images on my Flickr Photostream
and our Delightful blog here.

Image: This is a bunch of gocco prints I made (some based on our previous
collaborations) that Jen then took and added to.
These are the only pieces from our collaborative project where we both actually physically worked on the same piece.

A banner day

I'm excited about having my art included in BRICK BY BRICK a "sidewalk gallery" of art banners in downtown Minneapolis.

BRICK BY BRICK is an event designed to revitalize the creative energy of the Warehouse District and bring back the spirit that defined it as the creative center of Minneapolis. Just as this community was built, brick by brick, the stories continue to grow and the influence on the local arts scene is embedded forever.

brown paper packages tied up with string

I designed the wedding invitations for my friends Amanda and Erick. They are block prints on 100% recycled brown paper bags. On Saturday a whole troop of us ironed a trillion paper bags, traced and cut out 200 envelopes, 200 block prints that will become the invitation (we are going to hand stamp the text with a factory made stamp)and the RSVP card. You can see photos from the day here.

More Bicycle Art

I love this city. We love art here and we love bikes and we love art inspired by bikes.
I have work in the second annual Bike Art Show at altered esthetics.
The reception is tonight from 7-9
altered esthetics
1224 quincy street n.e.
minneapolis, mn 55413
You can see some photos of the prints I have in the show here. They are super-girl-y. It just keeps getting worse. I can't explain it.
